After doing some research and gaining some first-hand experience, I have put together this buying guide to help fellow enthusiasts navigate the world of World War 1 tank models.

Types of World War 1 Tank Models

The first thing you should consider when looking to buy a World War 1 tank model is what type of tank you are interested in. There were several different types of tanks used during the war including the British Mark series, French Renault FT, and German A7V. It’s important to do some research on each type to determine which one you would like to add to your collection.

Scale Size

World War 1 tank models come in various scale sizes, with the most common being 1:35 and 1:72. The scale size refers to the ratio of the model’s size compared to its real-life counterpart. For example, a 1:35 scale model means that every inch on the model represents 35 inches on the actual tank. It’s important to consider the scale size when purchasing a model as it will affect its level of detail and overall size.

Material

World War 1 tank models are typically made from plastic or metal. Plastic models tend to be more affordable and easier to assemble, making them a good option for beginners. Metal models are more durable and have a more realistic weight, but they can also be more expensive.

Level of Detail

The level of detail on a World War 1 tank model can vary greatly depending on the brand and price point. Some models may come with movable parts such as turret rotation or working tracks, while others may have intricate paint jobs and weathering effects. Consider how important detail is to you when making your purchase decision.

Brand Reputation

When it comes to purchasing any type of collectible item, brand reputation is an important factor to consider. Some well-known brands in the world of World War 1 tank models include Tamiya, Dragon Models, and Revell. These brands are known for their high-quality models and attention to detail.

Price Range

World War 1 tank models can range from affordable starter kits to highly detailed and expensive collector pieces. It’s important to determine your budget before starting your search so that you don’t overspend or end up with a low-quality model.

Where To Buy

There are several options for purchasing World War 1 tank models including hobby stores, online retailers, and auction sites such as eBay. It’s always a good idea to do some research on different sellers before making a purchase and read reviews from other buyers.

In conclusion, purchasing World War 1 tank models can be an exciting but overwhelming experience.
