He kept texting me updates as he was reading, saying things like “Oh my gosh, this is so good!” and “I can’t believe what just happened!” It’s rare for us to both enjoy a book so much but “Treaties, Trenches, Mud, and Blood” definitely did not disappoint.
But seriously though, this book is amazing. Nathan Hale has a way of making history come alive through his illustrations and storytelling. I never thought I would be so captivated by a World War I tale but here we are! The way he weaves humor into such a serious topic is truly impressive.
